Strategy Session

2hr pay-what-you-want consultancy and support

Purpose

This session gives you a chance to explore ideas, approaches and tools in order to support you in your work. It is tailored to the needs of neurodivergent professionals, academics and entrepreneurs to get stuff done in ways that are manageable, sustainable and even fun. The session will help you feel more supported and confident in doing what you’re great at, and allow you to do less of what you’re not so good at.

Format

The exact aim of the session is up to you. Here are some examples:

  • Automation and productivity
  • Managing bookings, scheduling and calendaring
  • Creating marketing content
  • Web and social media positioning and branding
  • Explaining and presenting your ideas and yourself
  • Problem-solving and getting unstuck
  • How to develop and test ideas
  • Putting together your Access Rider (For more on these, see Access Riders)

You are free to choose one of these, a variation, or any combination you like! Each session stands alone, though you may find it helpful to consider multiple sessions if you are struggling to fit all you want into a single one.

Afterwards you will get a report with notes from the session, recommendations for future actions and links to appropriate resources.

Calendar chaos - a case study

I was contacted by an entrepreneur with ADHD who was struggling to manage his schedule, having appointment clashes and feeling anxious about getting everything he needed done. He runs two businesses, one focused on digital production and the other on adventure travel, and has a partner and young child. He had already tried quite a few approaches, from physical planners to online calendars, and found none that actually stuck for more than a few weeks. As a result he was regularly feeling like he had to flog himself to death just to get what he needed done.

During the session I worked with both my client and his partner to look at how things currently worked, and to move towards something which worked better for everyone. We spoke about the effect of ADHD on how we work with time, and some more neurodivergent-friendly methods of organising. We also explored the need to capture ideas and thoughts when they occur, and in such a way that they can still be found and used later. We then looked at what he was currently using to manage everything, and discussed strategies to make that more effective. By the end of the session my client had a clear idea of how his ADHD affected his scheduling, and ways to make the process feel more calm in future.

After the session was complete, I shared a report summarising everything that we'd discussed, and making some recommendations about next steps. My client is digitally-savvy, and wanted to do some of the implementation himself. As a result, the report contained detailed instructions to set up a secure, GDPR-compliant calendar sharing system across his various responsibilities. It also included links to compatible tools which could be used to expand and improve the process later on, as well as other ways he might want to develop and refine his approaches in the future.

Booking, payment and pricing

This is a pay-what-you-want session. At time of booking, share your chosen price for the work. You will be invoiced after the session for that amount. Additionally, all work is covered by a money-back guarantee if you are unsatisfied with its quality.

You can use the guidance below to help you decide what you would like to pay.

The average price for a session is £400, and people usually choose to pay within £200 either way of that price.

Factors which may increase what you want to pay:

  • The work you need is highly specialised and very few other people can help.
  • You have a secure income and/or earn above £50,000 a year or equivalent.
  • You live in a wealthier country than the UK.
  • You want to support access to this and other services for those with less income.
  • The main organisation you work for is solely or predominantly private-profit making (e.g. a limited company or a PLC).

Factors which may reduce what you want to pay:

  • The work needed is not highly specialised or particularly difficult.
  • You have a precarious income, and/or earn less than £50,000 a year or equivalent.
  • You are the member of multiple marginalised groups.
  • You live in a less wealthy country than the UK.
  • The main organisation you work for is solely or predominantly for community benefit (e.g. a charity or social enterprise).
